It’s a miracle on East 30th Street.

Atomix, a Michelin two-star restaurant in an unassuming Murray Hill brownstone, is the only American locale on The 50’s prestigious “best restaurants” list.

The international media company frequently polls the world’s top hospitality experts for its guides, and this year, Atomix is the only U.S. establishment to make the grade. It hits the list at #11 — up one place from #12 last year.

The 2008-founded restaurant is owned and operated by power duo Junghyun ‘JP’  and Ellia Park, who are executive chef and manager, respectively. The pair are also co-founders of NA:EUN Hospitality — a culinary collective that includes Atoboy, Naro and Seoul Salon, three other beloved NYC establishments.

Atomix’s signature “Chef’s Counter” menu is a 12-course array of Korean dishes made with culturally inspired cooking techniques, including honeysuckle sikhye (a fresh take on the traditional Korean sweet rice drink) and premium lamb saddle topped with neungi mushrooms, dubu mu (a tofu-radish side dish) and rice made with gosari, a wild mountain fern.

The mouthwatering menu comes at an eye-watering price:

In November, the meal costs a whopping $424 per diner, with the heavy check bumping up to $495 per person during the busy month of December.

The restaurant does not accept gratuities.

Diners with slightly shallower pockets can still enjoy the bar tasting menu (in November, $314 per diner; December, $352 per diner). This includes a “unique beverage pairing” but with a slightly less involved food situation.

Reservations are fully booked for the rest of the year, per the online reservation Tock, though determined diners can elect for virtual notifications should a table open up. They do not accept walk-ins.

Seats at Atomix are so hard to snag, dining there has even become a status symbol on social media.

“I’ve been trying to get a reservation at Atomix for three years now,” food content creator Janie DeVours posted in a TikTok last year that garnered over 173K likes. “I finally did it and spoiler — it was the best meal I’ve ever had in New York City.

“One of the best! In the world!” content creator Kaitlyn Lavery posted earlier this year in a similar video.

“I would sell my soul to live like this,” said one practically drooling commenter.

“Literally dream menu,” posted another.

New Yorkers who want to snag a ritzy reservation for themselves should set a calendar alert to 3 p.m. on December 1, when the next block of open seats — for January 2027 — will be available. (Though we suspect not for long.)
