The Venice Biennale, the art world’s most prestigious international exhibition, kicks off this week, with press previews being held over the coming days and then the public opening on Saturday.
Under this year’s theme, “In Minor Keys” — an invitation to reconnect with “art’s natural habitats”: “the emotional, the visual, the sensory” — the Biennale’s main exhibition halls are set to showcase a vast array of works by 110 artists and collectives.
Crowds are already beginning to descend on the city to take in the art and associated social events.
