One dog’s way of protesting their owner’s rules has left viewers online in stitches.

Rolo, a miniature dachshund, was filmed challenging his owner to a barking match after not getting his own way. His owner, who handles his TikTok account @j_18wd, captured the canine’s disgruntled whining and barking, and shared it to the social-media platform on June 26. The short video has since been viewed more than 629,000 times and has sparked amusement among other dachshund owners.

Viewers were able to see the male sausage dog sitting on a couch, while directing both vocal barks and inaudible huffs toward his owner, after he reportedly did not “get [his] own way.” Rolo’s protest was accompanied by a tense stare, perhaps an attempt to hammer home how displeased he was by his owner’s decision to enact some authority. The hilarious moment, which took place at the pair’s home in the United Kingdom, played against an upbeat instrumental tune.

An overlaid text on the video read: “POV: [Point of view] A dachshund doesn’t get their own way.”

Dachshunds, affectionately known by some as “wiener dogs,” are renowned for their feisty and independent personalities. These canines, although small, tend to have quite spirited personalities.

Dachshunds are known to be both courageous and stubborn, making them a slightly more difficult breed to train into obedience than other, more agreeable, breeds. Still, they form close bonds with members of their family and show loyalty and affection toward their owners. This, though, can be temporarily compromised if things do not go as they had planned, as is the case in the viral video.

Viewers online have shared their amusement at the heated exchange in the comments section. Several dachshund owners have also voiced how much they relate to Rolo’s owner’s ordeal.

“That sass! Dachshund owners need a support group for this daily abuse. I get hopping while barking,” one user, @j_18wd, wrote.

Another, @ejpacr, commented: “Man I miss arguing with my boy. [He] looks just like him.”

“My doxie when I have to throw the ball for the millionth time,” a third user, @d._.k2004, posted.

Another, @serjaps, added: “Why are they like this? We got a half-Shih Tzu half-wiener and she has half of your wiener’s sass? I can’t.”
