Reporter Jesinta Burton has been nominated for the Culture and Arts A.H. Kornweibel Arts Prize for her articles on Hancock Prospecting’s fight to build a new $240 million headquarters in West Perth, which would mean bulldozing a 100-year-old Federation home which was excluded from the City of Perth’s heritage list by former Lord Mayor Basil Zempilas’ casting vote in 2023.
Meanwhile, our 9 News Perth colleague, Connor McGoverne has been recognised for his contributions to WAtoday, with his columns earning him a chance to takeaway the Matt Price Prize at the November 8 awards ceremony.
