Police are looking for the driver of a stolen car that bypassed bollards and sped through a shopping centre in Melbourne’s north sending it into lockdown.

Northland Shopping Centre in Preston went into lockdown for the second time in less than a month after the white Landcruiser drove through the centre.

A police spokesperson said officers attempted to block the vehicle outside the shopping centre about 4pm.

“The Landcruiser, with one male occupant on board, has taken evasive action to avoid the police and driven through the middle of the shopping centre,” they said.

“Thankfully, no one was struck by the car and there are no reported injuries. One woman is being treated at the scene for shock.”

The vehicle has since left the shopping centre and was last seen travelling towards Wood Street in Preston.

Ambulance Victoria said paramedics assessed two people at the scene, but they did not require transport to hospital.

Last month a machete brawl at Northland forced the centre into lockdown while shoppers ran to hide in stores.
