Multiple household and children’s products sold on Amazon have been recalled nationwide following alerts from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).

Newsweek contacted Amazon for comment via email.

Why It Matters

The CPSC has warned that these items pose significant health and safety hazards, including exposure to toxic substances, fire hazards, and risks of serious injury or death.

The recalls underscore increasing concerns about product safety enforcement within major e-commerce marketplaces—especially for families purchasing products for infants and children and those relying on online retailers for household goods.

Regulatory authorities stress the need for vigilant oversight and prompt consumer response to recall announcements, particularly as online shopping volumes surge during the holiday season.

What To Know

On Thursday, the CPSC announced several major recalls impacting Amazon customers nationwide.

The affected products, distributed by third-party sellers through Amazon and other online platforms, range from children’s costumes containing banned toxic chemicals to bath products and appliances with serious safety defects.

The items being recalled are:

SKCAIHT Children’s Little Mermaid Costumes

About 1,300 units of these costumes were recalled. The CPSC found that the costumes manufactured in China contain a prohibited phthalate, violating the federal ban on such chemicals. Phthalates are toxic if ingested by young children and can cause adverse health effects.

No injuries have been reported. The costumes were sold on Amazon from March 2022 through July 2025 for about $30.

Consumers are instructed to immediately stop use, cut the dress, and submit a photo to the retailer at pafiney@outlook.com for a refund.

Uuoeebb Infant Walkers

The recalled infant walkers violate the mandatory standard for infant walkers because they can fit through a standard doorway and fail to stop at the edge of a step, posing a deadly fall hazard. In addition, the infant walkers have leg openings that allow the child to slip down until the child’s head can become entrapped, posing a risk of serious injury or death.

About 2,650 infant walkers manufactured in China were recalled for violating mandatory safety standards. They were sold from December 2024 through September 2025 for between $60 and $90.

No injuries have been reported. Customers should stop using the walker immediately, disassemble it, remove the fabric seat, write “Recalled” on the top of the tray in permanent marker, and email photos to the company at Uuoeebbrecalls@outlook.com for a refund.

VEVOR Steamers

The steamers can leak or spit hot water, posing a risk of serious burn injury to users and bystanders. The water tank cap can also leak or detach during use, exposing users to hot water.

About 2,840 steamers manufactured in China, sold under the VEVOR brand on Amazon and other retailers, were recalled after reports of burns caused by leaking and detached water tank caps. Sold at Vevor.com, Amazon.com and HomeDepot.com from December 2023 to September 2025 for between about $10 and $33.

Six reports detailed hot water incidents, with two resulting in second-degree burns and one permanent scar.

Customers are instructed to stop use and submit proof of destruction to receive a refund.

YCXXKJ Baby Bath Seats

The recalled bath seats violate the mandatory standard for infant bath seats because they are unstable and can tip over while in use, posing a risk of serious injury or death due to drowning.

Roughly 8,960 seats manufactured in China were recalled for instability that could lead to tipping and drowning risks for infants. No injuries have been reported.

The items were sold on Amazon from May 2024 to October 2025. Customers should stop using and contact the importer for a refund after sending photos to bentalkhere@outlook.com as required.

Vevor Ice Crushers

The ice crusher can experience a thermal event and ignite, posing a fire hazard.

About 11,650 ice crushers manufactured in China are being recalled, including one reported fire.

The item was sold on Amazon and other major online retailers, Vevor.com, Walmart.com, Wayfair.com, HomeDepot.com, and Lowes.com, from July 2021 through July 2025 for between $40 and $86.

Customers are to stop using and contact the distributor Sanven for a refund.
