Two boys have been found dead in a Blue Mountains home.
Emergency services were called to a home on Chapman Parade in Faulconbridge just before 1pm on Tuesday, where the bodies of the boys aged nine and 11 were found by a family member. A major police investigation has now been launched.
A 42-year-old woman has been taken to Westmead Hospital under police guard and in a stable condition. Police said there is no ongoing threat to the community and no one else is being sought in relation to the deaths.
Homicide squad detectives are assisting Blue Mountains Police Area Command officers with the investigation. Anyone with information about the deaths is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
