Former President Donald Trump announced his new book on Thursday morning, and it costs nearly $100.
In a post on his social media site, Truth Social, GOP presidential nominee displayed the cover of Save America, which comes out September 3.
“I’m pleased to announce my new Book, ‘SAVE AMERICA.’ As everyone knows, the first two, ‘Our Journey Together’ and, ‘Letters to Trump,’ have been spectacular successes, and this is the BEST OF ALL, especially in light of the fact that we are now living in a Failing Nation, but it will not be failing for long. We will soon, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” Trump wrote in his post.
People can preorder the book now for $99, or $499 for a copy signed by Trump. The former president’s Letters to Trump, which came out in April 2023, also goes for $99, while Our Journey Together, released in December 2021, is $74.99. The signed versions of Letters to Trump and Our Journey Together, which retailed for $399 and $290, respectively, were sold on Trump’s publisher’s website.
Newsweek reached out via email to Steven Cheung, the communications director of Trump’s campaign, for comment on Thursday morning.
The cover photo of Trump’s new book is the image of him pumping his fist in the air with blood on his face after his assassination attempt on July 13. Trump was struck in his right ear by a bullet at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, earlier this month.
The shooter, 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, was killed by a Secret Service sniper. One rally attendee, former firefighter Corey Comperatore, 50, was killed in the shooting, and two others were seriously injured.
According to the new book’s description, it “offers an unparalleled look into his four years as the 45th President of the United States, and a vision for his next term!”
It includes photos of “iconic moments from the first Trump Administration” selected by the former president, “alongside his words,” which “provide insight into what will shape his next four years in office.”
The description boasted about Trump’s “record-breaking trade negotiations, tax cuts, international diplomacy, and Border security,” which will all be showcased in the book.
As illegal crossings at the U.S.-Mexico border have surged in recent years, immigration has become a top issue for Republicans, who blame the Biden administration. While illegal immigration has gone up significantly during Biden’s term, it also increased in Trump’s last months in office after hitting a low during the COVID-19 pandemic.
It’s unclear what “record-breaking trade negotiations” refers to, but Trump did make a deal with China in January 2020 preventing further escalation of a two-year trade war in which Washington and Beijing were imposing tariffs on each other’s products.
Trump’s new book will be published by Winning Team Publishing, a conservative publishing house founded in 2021 by his eldest son, Donald Trump Jr. and Sergio Gor.
Meanwhile, Trump’s wife, Melania, is set to publish her first-ever memoir in the fall, which will include pictures and stories “never before shared with the public,” according to a press release provided to Fox News.
Titled Melania, the book will be published by Skyhorse Publishing and will be released in two versions: a “Collector’s Edition” and a “Memoir Edition.”
