A stabbing spree in southern Sydney has forced police to close roads, including the Princes Highway around Engadine, after they Tasered a suspect allegedly found running from the scene of a car crash where multiple people, including a police officer, were injured.
Multiple calls were made to triple zero after a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Princes Highway and Old Bush Road about 9am on Sunday.

Sutherland Shire police arrived to find a man who appeared to be suffering stab wounds allegedly running from the crash scene. He was taken into custody after being Tasered and allegedly causing a serious laceration to the arresting officer’s left wrist.
A woman – understood to be a passenger in a vehicle involved in the collision – was found also suffering multiple wounds.

A fourth injured person was also found at the scene, but it was unclear what that person’s involvement was in the incident.
All four people are being treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics and the Princes Highway is closed in both directions between Farnell Avenue and Heathcote Road.
Transport for NSW recommends drivers heading south from Kirrawee use the Old Princes Highway, The Grand Parade, Linden Street, River Road, Bangor Bypass, New Illawarra Road, Heathcote Road, and back to the highway.
