A woman has been found stabbed to death inside a home in San Jose.
The victim was discovered inside the property in the 700 block of Linda Vista Street around 2 p.m. Friday, NBC Bay Area reported.
She was pronounced dead at the scene after suffering from at least one stab wound, according to officers.
Police described the suspect as a woman who knew the victim.
Officers were seen canvassing the quiet street late Friday and talking to locals.
One man was seen gesturing towards them as a woman stood nearby.
Police launched a homicide investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fatal attack and the motive remained unclear.
Violent crime in San Jose is generally falling, with 4,963 last year, down 15% on the year before. The city recorded 26 murders last year, which is near the lowest levels in 10 years.
It has seen seven killings from the start of the year through May, the police department’s website states.
The city ranked No. 1 on a list of the priciest places to live in the US, with monthly home payments at a staggering $11,690.
