A man has been shot in the foot after a group of men broke into his home on Brisbane’s bayside in the early hours of Monday morning, in what police believe was a targeted home invasion.
The men broke into the home on Mander Court in Wellington Point just before 1am, police said, before shooting the 25-year-old resident in the foot.
They proceeded to steal several items from the house, including a Dodge Ram ute.
The attackers fled in the stolen ute and a BMW X5, although police are not sure of the owner of the second vehicle.
Paramedics treated the victim at the scene before taking him to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a stable condition.
Investigators are calling for anyone with information or CCTV footage from the area, between the hours of 11pm and 1am, to come forward.
“Police believe this to be a targeted incident, and there is no current threat to the public at this time,” police said in a statement.
