A man is in a stable but serious condition after an alleged stabbing attack in the Perth CBD on Friday night left the victim requiring surgery.

According to WA Police, a group of males, understood to be known to each other, were involved in an altercation outside a café near Brookfield Place on St Georges Terrace at around 11.15pm on Friday night.

A police spokesperson said that during the incident, it is alleged that a man in his 30s was stabbed in the back.

“About 11.50pm, the victim arrived at the Royal Perth Hospital emergency department in a white Toyota Corolla hatchback,” the spokesperson said.

“Two males assisted the injured man into the emergency department before immediately leaving the area.

“The victim sustained life-threatening injuries and underwent emergency surgery at Royal Perth Hospital.”

The victim is understood to be recovering in the hospital’s state trauma unit.

Perth Detectives are seeking the public’s assistance with information as they investigate.

In a separate incident on Friday, Joondalup Detectives have charged a 15-year-old male after a ride-share driver was the alleged victim of a spray attack.

A WA police spokesperson said that about 12:00pm, the teenager and a second male were collected from an address in Balga by a ride-share vehicle.

“It will be alleged once inside the ride-share vehicle, the two males made threats towards the ride-share driver, before the 15-year-old male brandished OC spray,” they said.

“The ride-share driver drove to service station on Canham Way in Greenwood and exited the vehicle.

“It will be further alleged the 15-year-old male followed the driver out of the vehicle and sprayed him with OC spray.”

The two males are understood to have then left the area on foot.

WA Police said the 15-year-old male was located at an address in Balga a short time later and taken into custody.

He has since been charged with one count of made a threat to unlawfully do an act and one count of cause poison to be administered.

The teenager was also charged with one count of aggravated armed robbery, in addition to a charge of attempted to steal motor vehicle.

The second male remains outstanding and WA Police are seeking assistance to locate his whereabouts.
