The first question following an Apple event — after “Can I really afford that?” — is always “When can I get it?” And consistent with previous product announcements, some of the devices and features that Apple revealed Wednesday won’t be available for a while.
Fortunately, it doesn’t seem like we’re seeing a repeat of 2024’s Apple Intelligence rollout, which inspired a false-claims lawsuit, which Apple is settling. Siri AI now works as advertised, at least in the beta versions we’ve tested so far.
For the other features Apple touted during its event, here’s an idea of when you’ll actually be able to get them in your hands. We have specific dates for a few things, but be prepared to wait until “late 2026” for several.
The main events: Hardware
Some of Apple’s new products are just around the corner, while others require a wait.
The Apple Watch Series 12, Apple Watch Ultra 4 and AirPods 5 can be preordered now and will arrive starting Sept. 18.
Preorders for the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max open at 5 a.m. PT on Saturday and will also begin arriving on Sept. 18.
The star of the show, the foldable iPhone Duo, is a bit further out, with preorders starting at 5 a.m. PT on Oct. 16 and first shipments arriving Oct. 23.
The system updates
The new hardware will include the latest versions of the operating systems, such as iOS 27 for iPhone models, but if you own an existing device, you’ll be able to run the software earlier. iOS 27, iPadOS 27, WatchOS 27, MacOS 27 Golden Gate, TVOS 27 and VisionOS 27 will all be available to install on Sept. 14.
Apple Intelligence features coming soon
Siri AI is still officially a beta feature, and Apple says it will “roll out gradually” in English after the launch of the new operating systems. Siri AI will be available in October in French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish. In the developer and public betas, you had to request access to the feature and wait for it to be activated, so I expect that will be the case at release, too.
On the new Apple Watch models, Live Rewind and Siri Recap are listed as available in beta in late 2026 and will require the watch to be paired with an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone 16 or later (except for the iPhone 16e).
The Suggestions in the Messages app, where a button appears within a conversation to take contextual action – such as adding an item to your calendar – is also “coming in a future software update,” although I’ve seen it in the iOS 27 public betas.

Several features that don’t fit neatly into the above categories are also arriving sometime after the new devices and system software ship.
The Passwords app can fix weak or compromised passwords by logging into a site in the background and updating the password on its own. This will be included in a future software update.
iPhone Handoff, the feature that lets you share a phone number between two iPhones, will initially be available to T-Mobile subscribers in the US and to Telecom Germany subscribers. Verizon and EE will get support by the end of the year.
Monster Hunter Outlanders, which was shown to demonstrate the gaming abilities of the iPhone models, is coming later this year.
The iPhone Duo is getting support for the Apple Pencil – but not the Apple Pencil Pro – on both iPhone Duo displays, and it’s arriving later this year.
Health features
The Health app on iPhone is getting a redesign that will be coming in late 2026. That will also add the Health Age feature that looks at seven sources of data, such as sleep and activity, to gauge your current health level.
The redesign will also include personalized guidance recommendations, such as adding intervals to a run to increase your cardio.
