The Buffalo Bills came up with perhaps their biggest win of the season on Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs. Additionally, they brought an end to one of the most impressive streaks in football, which belonged to Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

Buffalo constantly had pressure on Mahomes throughout Sunday’s game, making the three-time Super Bowl champion quarterback look far more inaccurate than he has been at any point in his career.

Mahomes was able to complete just 15 of his 34 pass attempts on the night. This marks the first time in his career that he has not been able to complete at least 50 percent of his passes.

Former NFL quarterback Marc Bulger is the next-closest quarterback to Mahomes in this specific category, with 66 consecutive games completing at least 50 percent of his passes to start his career.

Mahomes came into the game as hot as any quarterback in football, throwing for over 250 yards and three touchdowns in each of the Chiefs’ last three games. With this in mind, the Bills’ defense should certainly get a ton of praise for how well they were able to handle him on Sunday.

Maybe it was an off night for Mahomes. Regardless, future opponents should certainly take notes on how the Bills’ defense was able to give him so many problems.

On the bright side for Chiefs fans, the team is set to get a much-needed bye in Week 10 before an incredibly important divisional game in Week 11 against the Denver Broncos.

So it will certainly be interesting to see whether Mahomes’ struggles were strictly due to the Bills’ defensive game plan, or whether there are some underlying problems with Kansas City’s offense moving forward.
