T-Mobile announced last week that T-Mix — a new suite of unlimited-data phone plans — are replacing the Experience 2.0 and Essentials 2.0 plans. The core plans – Standard, More and Loaded – are augmented by a perks system called Picks that can be applied toward streaming services and devices.

While the Experience era’s tenure was relatively short-lived, not all of it is going away: T-Mobile hung on to a budget plan for customers who just want the basics for a cheaper monthly cost. Now that T-Mix is live, those main plans have been joined by a new T-Mix Saver plan.

T-Mobile’s T-Mix Saver replaces the Essentials Saver 2.0 plan (which we’ve featured on a few of our Best Phone Plans lists). According to the updated T-Mobile website, the new plan costs $55 a month for a single line, $5 more expensive than Essentials Saver 2.0, or $100 for two lines (the maximum number of lines), which is $20 more than Essentials Saver 2.0. If you bring your existing number from another carrier, the costs are $30 and $65. Those amounts are with AutoPay applied, plus taxes and fees.

The plan is bare-bones, with zero Picks. Customers who want to add perks such as Apple TV or DashPass by DoorDash would need to upgrade to the Standard plan for $55 (single) or $85 (two lines) per month. The Standard plan includes one Pick for a single line and two Picks for two lines.

The T-Mix Saver plan includes 50GB of high-speed data, after which data is unlimited at a slower speed, which is the same as the Standard plan. It offers unlimited hotspot at 3G speeds and SD (480p) quality streaming video.

“For a small percentage of customers, all they want is the best 5G network,” said Allan Samson, chief marketing officer at T-Mobile.” For them, we created the simple T-Mix Saver plan with exceptional customer service and all the perks of T-Mobile membership.”
