Collins was unable to confirm what type of firearm was used, or the exact circumstances of her death.
He said there was nothing to indicate it was domestic violence.
“Our thoughts go out to the family. It’s devastating that a person loses their life in such a way,” Collins said.
Multiple people who were at the location at the time of the incident were on Wednesday night helping people with the investigation.
The investigation and efforts to find any “outstanding people” were ongoing, but there was no threat to the public, police said.
