Canavan said it was “simply a business arrangement between two political parties” who would now fight separately within the parliament.

Canavan said the door was always open and they “may get back together”.

Today co-host Karl Stefanovic said deputy Liberal leader Ted O’Brien was asked last night to appear on this morning’s show, and agreed, and was also told Canavan would be on the program.
