“I saw that footage and thought, ‘I can’t believe that’s happening in Queensland’.

“You know, that kind of language and sentiment, it’s not only abhorrent, it’s just not what Queensland stands for. It’s not who we are.”

LNP leader David Crisafulli also condemned the actions of the “small-minded fools” on Sunday.

“They should have the book thrown at them because racism has no place in our country. None,” he said.

Investigations were said to be ongoing.

There have been unconfirmed reports that members of the neo-Nazi group were touring Australia. A similar march was held in Melbourne last month.

The latest march came less than a week after Australia raised its terrorism threat level for the first time in a decade.

Spy agency ASIO declared an attack was now “probable”, as far-right riots continued in Britain weeks after an election there and before US and Australian polls within the next year.

Authorities fear a mix of fringe ideologies – including anti-government conspiracy theories, racism, Islamist extremism and neo-Nazism – is blending with social media-fuelled personal grievance, intolerance, loneliness and mental ill health.
