A Queensland Police Service staff member who worked for the state’s Protective Services Group has been charged and suspended from the service for alleged weapons and traffic offences.
Police issued a statement on Wednesday about the 51-year-old woman, who worked in the operational unit under the Counter-Terrorism Command.
PSG officers provide security to Queensland government facilities, including public transport areas, courthouses and schools.
Police said the woman had been charged with one count each of unlawful possession of restricted items – a baton and handcuffs – unlawful use of a motor vehicle, driving while under the influence, and possession of liquor in a restricted area.
The QPS said the woman allegedly committed the offences while off duty, and has been suspended from the service. It was unclear where the offences were allegedly committed.
