Police believe a young mother was deliberately killed while walking along a Daisy Hill footpath on Friday morning in a hit-and-run attack.
Detective Inspector Chris Knight said on Sunday police had charged a 24-year-old Goodna woman with murder after she allegedly targeted the 23-year-old Daisy Hill mother with a silver Toyota Prado, mowing her down as she walked along Allamanda Drive just before 9am on Friday.
The mother suffered critical head injuries and died in hospital that night.

Knight said the alleged victim had just dropped her daughter off at a nearby daycare centre when she was struck in what he described as a “targeted” attack.
“When I say targeted, we believe, and we will allege, that the vehicle involved in this incident had been in that area for an extended period of time leading up to the collision,” he said.
“For that reason, we don’t believe it was an unfortunate random traffic accident.”
Detectives have seized a vehicle, which has been secured in a forensic facility.
“There is visible damage to that car and we will get our forensic experts to explore comparisons between the damage to that vehicle and evidence that was recovered from the impact site because there were broken lenses, lights off the car, etc, that have potential forensic value,” he said.
