Turning to crime news first, a 58-year-old man has been arrested and charged over a house fire investigators say he deliberately lit while a woman was still inside.
It will be alleged the man deliberately set fire to a home on Endeavour Drive in Port Kennedy on Monday.
The woman inside the home at the time was rushed to Fiona Stanley Hospital for treatment of burns sustained during the incident.
The 58-year-old man from Rockingham has been charged with an attempt to unlawfully kill and criminal damage by fire.
He is due to appear before Rockingham Magistrates Court today.
