The head of the FBI’s New York Field Office was forced out on Monday, a month after urging employees to “dig in” following the Trump administration’s removal of senior FBI leaders and its request for the names of agents involved in Jan. 6 cases, according to five sources familiar with the situation, NBC News reported.
Two sources told the network that James Dennehy, a widely respected leader, was given the option to resign or be fired. He was eligible for retirement and has since officially retired.
